Phone System Quick Start

Ok, before we get started, there are some things you should know.

Our new phone system is magic; it can work from almost any device. But unless your role explicitly requires you to be available after regular business hours, we do not expect you to use your personal smartphone for work. This means there's no expectation that you install Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, or Intulse (our new phone system app) on your personal device.

The IT Team can only support the devices and tools we provide your ministry. This means that, should you choose to install these apps on your personal device as a convenience (we can't stop you), it's up to you to troubleshoot your personal device should something not work correctly. We are always happy to answer a question or provide guidance, but my team can't intervene or fix problems with your personal technology.

The IT Team has three objectives.

  1. Empower Ministries
  2. Make Technology Frictionless
  3. Love People Well
Your ministry is important to us. If the technology is getting in the way, or your ministry has technology needs, please reach out so we can help. Helping empower your ministry and solving hard problems is the job we signed up for and are weirdly passionate about. If there's something we can help with, reach out to us via email at itteam@northcoastchurch.com.

With that out of the way, let's get to the cool stuff!
Here's everything you might need to know to use the new phone system:

Desk phones!

  • Punch numbers, call people. (Doing the opposite won't spread the gospel!)
  • Voicemail messages left for you will be delivered to your email address automatically.
  • Set up your voicemail using the steps below:

1. Press the Mail button to the left of the number pad to open your Voicemail.
2. Your default Voicemail password is your Extension Number.
3. You will be asked to say your Name and enter two prompts for missed calls.
4. You will be asked to change and re-enter your password for verification.

If you previously had a "Shortel" desk phone, the only major difference you should be aware of is you no longer need to dial nine before making external calls. If this is your first time using a desk phone, you may also find this guide helpful for a complete overview of features: https://support.intulse.com/your-phone/guides/t53w-user-guide

The Intulse App!

The Intulse app is an optional component of our new phone system that allows you to make and receive calls from computers and other devices. If you would rather use a computer to make and receive calls instead of a desk phone, or would like access to more advanced features, then the Intulse app is for you! To learn how to use the app, please watch the following video guides for step-by-step instructions:
  1. Signing in and adding the Intulse app to your computer
  2. Intulse app overview
  3. Advanced voicemail settings
Once you've run through it the training videos Intulse provides, you should be ready to start using the Intulse app! As always, we are here to support you; if you have questions or want 1-1 guidance, please reach out so we can help by opening a ticket or emailing us at: itteam@northcoastchurch.com.
