Keeping your computer up to date is important since apple only releases security fixes for the most recent version of macOS. Installing updates is easy, but before you do it, ensure you have everything important saved to your OneDrive. This might take up to an hour; we recommend installing updates right before you leave for the day or before your lunch break.
Use Software Update
Before following these steps, it's a good idea to make sure all your important data is stored in OneDrive.
From the Apple menu in the corner of your screen, choose System Settings or System Preferences.
If you choose System Settings, click General on the left side of the window. Then click Software Update on the right.
If you choose System Preferences, click Software Update in the window.
Software Update then checks for new software.
If Software Update finds new software, click the button to install it. For example, the button might be named Update Now, Upgrade Now, Install Now, or Restart Now. You might then be asked to enter your password.
If your mac fails to update you may need to install any pre-requisite updates:
In the system update under system preferences, there may be an option that reads "Another update is available." Select the "More Info..." option under that and install any of those updates before attempting to update to Ventura.
